Betting Options
Craps is believed to have originated in the Middle East and to have been played by the English during the crusades. Today’s craps layout can be attributed to John Winn who, in 1907 introduced the option to bet that the dice would lose. The first layout to include the “don’t-pass” box marked on it was known as the Philadelphia Layout – after the city of it’s origin – it is now the basis of the layout used in casinos across the globe.

Craps is played with two dice on a deep sided, baize covered table. The name “craps” is believed to have derived from the English term “crabs” applied to the original losing throws of a 2, 3 or 12. Any number of players can take part in craps, each of them betting individually against hte house and not each other.
To play craps online you have the opportunity to be the “shooter”, the shooter is the person throwing the dice, with play passing to the left. A new shooter chooses a pair of dice from a selection of three before making his first and subsequent throws. With the exception of his first roll – the “come out” roll – each shooter’s turn ends as soon as he throws a seven.
Each “shooter” must roll the dice the full length of the table and they must bounce off the end wall before landing to be considered valid.
